Why I am concerned for future of the USA

I rarely comment of political issues, but this one got to me because it greatly affects millions of the poorest of the poor.

The Obama administration and Congress pledged around $1.33 billion to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Now Obama is backing out of that commitment with devastating consequences.

Generosity is like a jewel

My daughters recently decided that they want to fundraise for their mom who, in ten days, is going with a team of volunteers to dig a well in El Salvador. The well is going to provide drinking water to hundreds of people who otherwise don't have access to it.

So we set up a little booth next to a nearby Ralph's grocery store. The girls ended up raising over $300 in a couple of hours, but the real treasure was putting ourselves out there to speak for the poor.

We are beautiful with no make up gloss or glamour

My dad sent me this amazing video about Latin America by Grammy Award winner «Calle 13». I do music video production. This one is a great production and also so honest I just had to share it.

Music videos are usually about facade. Airbrushed people driving expensive cars wearing designer clothes is the name of the game and it's frustratingly cliche and mind numbingly  boring. We need to believe that we are beautiful with no makeup, no gloss and no glamour.

A lesson on where vision for life comes from

Today I visited my new friends the «Overcoming» rehabilitation center in Moscow ( we did a benefit show for them a couple of days ago). It's a state of the art facility that focuses exclusively on people with spine injuries. The team is the most amazing family of professionals, a lot of heart and an amazing range of services both physical and emotional/spiritual help. I mean these guys have a choir, photo lab and a rugby team! ......Rugby!

Nothing boring about Russia

On my first day in Moscow after 5 hours of sleep I was performing at a charity concert in downotown Moscow. Good start.

The charity is «Independence Foundation» that has an amazing rehabilitation center for people with spine injuries, they do great work, I am going to visit the facility sometime this week.

I also made a new friend, a guy was intimately involved in the behind the scenes of Russian transition from Communism in the 90s. It amazes me  just how much is done in politics behind closed doors, and not only Russian politics.
